are you allowed to put your free foot on the front wheel? if so I may give this a go. I know I would not win but would be good have a go at a comp I can vaguely do.

just relax and put a foot down FFS!

props to those who do it well though.

yeah, and no work unless it involves bikes or drinking.

I'm planning to turn the company into a massive indoor velodrome, with a bmx track, skate ramps and ten bars with 5 Indian resturants and a bike shop

sounds like a laugh, but whats the technique for one footed? and how long do they generally go on for?

Take hands off bars, take one foot off pedal.
(end sarcasm)

I can't do them but I'd guess they can be done one of two ways:
1. Take one foot off and use it to hold the front wheel in place while the other remains on the pedal.
2. Take one foot off and use the remaining foot to apply up and down pressure on the pedal to keep you in the one spot. It's just balance.

Watch the Track Stand videos on YouTube for techniques or the million and one trackstand comp videos from alley cats and stuff around the world.

but how do you know?

elaborate system of mirrors?

be careful, I once knew a man who spied on young girls getting undressed, he used an elaborate system of mirrors.
He got caught and had a restraining order stuck on him!

Nup. Not on that road, no Lake shoes. There's quite a few of those blue Ribbles around though.
Dazzler had the road bike version on the Stonehenge ride in the same colour, for example.

While we're on this - who was riding up Holland Park Av on the all white fix with the full length top-tube protector and maybe longish hair? One of you?

He's a pro cyclist.. they have no need for arm muscle. Gripping would just build forearm muscle and add unneeded weight, hampering his climbing ability.
