But he'll be a laughing stock if he increases fines, blah, blah, blah. Better download the band immediately, I'd never heard of them. No wonder I use this forum . . .

Watch out, half their output is kinda 70s rock, the rest is psychedelic freak out drone. It's all awesome, but I do own albums by Merzbow/Sunn 0)))...

Er... wrong.

Seriously, don't kid yourself... the man is, and always will be, an upper-class self-centred twat.

Spot the big clue as to why he might never be like the rest of us from that Sunday Mirror article: His dash began at 7.45am on Friday as Boris left his £2million home in Highbury, North London

That sounds about right for anything approaching a 'family' home. I live in Bow, part of Tower Hamlets and apparently it's the most deprived part of London. If you want a flat here, you're looking at £220,000 for a fucking one bedroom conversion! That's almost a quarter of a million

Looks like I'm not buying a house anytime soon...

He lives in Barnsbury, which is a bit more posh. The hack was geographically challenged.

See here for some prices

I'm amused by the £8mn studio flat. I assume it's mis-categorised.

One of the photos was by Islington Sainsburys heading South, another was the top of Goswell Road heading North to Angel and St Pauls was mentioned. So I guess at least part of the route is Liverpool Road -> Angel -> Goswell Road -> St Pauls -> get lost and ask a cabbie.

I suppose one could flash-mob a daily Critical Mass style ride along the route of Boris' commute...

Fucking media, adding superfluous information such as "without a helmet", trying to draw a comparison between jumping a red light and minor crimes such as vandalism. Do some real journalism wankers.

Sanctimonious twats. I hate this kind of journalism: "let's do a story where we show Boris to be corrupt and unfit to be Mayor...how can we do that?" We get Boris, timidly half-pedalling, half-kerb-legging through a red.

In a way this arcticle gives me optimism though - surely Boris has just shown what we know to be a daily truth? That, though it looks bad from a driver's windscreened POV, we aren't doing these things to be arrogant, malicious or belligerent - it just...feels natural to do it sometimes, especially if you're in a rush for work. And now surely Boris can't put fines, coppers etc. in place as it was being rumoured?

I do hope he doesn't apologise (how arrogant of that red light campaign guy - I'm sorry but who are you? Full apology and petition? I know you're making the most of the visibility this incident affords your campaign but you haven't done much to make it massively visible thusfar). And were Boris to retract all his bad highway coding and start coming down hard on the very people he's been typical of, that really would be shitty, hypocritical and nuzzling at the sugar-lump'd palm of his beloved Tory Party. Come on Boris, you wouldn't do that would yer? You're one of us ain't yer - a Real London Cyclist..?

One concern. If he doesn't know the route from St Paul's to London Bridge he can't have done that much cycling in London - I mean that route's a Sunday Starter for five points. Specially if you've got a new job.

From St Paul's to London Bridge, I'm surprised he didn't ride across the Millenium bridge and then along the river...
