That is further than Dunwich.

Further and much more challenging terrain.
It's hardly a DD training ride. It's well beyond DD.

Hey Hippy, heard you are a Group 1 L2P too. Terrain is pancake flat until near the turn, a couple of bumps near Oakhanger and then home again.

Route is all the quieter stuff, lots of pretty bits. City-side will be TowerBridge. I'll be heading down Lower Thames St to the Embankment, Parliament SQ so anywhere along there. Hope you can make it. E

Training Ride

Is this a geared or fixed ride, I assume g'd. I'm in Parsons Green, so could make:
9.45 am rendezvous at South side of Putney bridge/

You could just about manage fxd with just one steepish climb but I think g'd would be more comfortable/practical. But heh it's a free world, happy to see you there either way!

I cruise at 18mph max, slower to 16 if it's a long ride like this.

Sounds fine, bit of a mixed crowd going, at least a couple of ladies! The idea was to get the miles in for endurance rather than a tear up. (Although I reserve the right on the home leg if the legs are good!)

Fortunately for me, what I call the Heavies, Hippy, Tommy, Jonny, Illy et al are all doing more serious activities like the Isle of Wight, so may be we can relax and lie about how we completed 130 miles in 5 hours when we return.

A massive thankyou to the group that showed for the inaugural 'Eddy L2P training run' 50x14, legend, missed us at Putney, raced home to find the next rendezvous on his computer before rushing back to Esher to meet up. Great to meet you 50x14, sorry you couldn't hang on for the full ride. AdBW also legend, rode out of her skin and was wise enough to take a leisurely train ride back to town from Guildford +1. The remaining 4 had lunch in Selbourne, tea in Weybridge and by the time we hit town I had clocked 137 miles..........which was nice! Thanks again, E.
