That would be capitalization, if you're a slave to OED protocol.

well on a lighter note, i just tried to use the search function for the original hiphop slave thread instead of just asking and then getting told to search. ok so i didnt find it but guess what, on the bit where you have to type in the words for verification one of the words was bronx. hiphop-bronx. get it. amazing coincidence. so who can fill the space in the classic bdp lyric below with the best word, misspelled or not.

the bronx created hiphop, ________ will always get dropped. ya still tellin lies to me.

Searching would have done you no good - as it is not text, but an image.

Naughty old Wheels, look at all the trouble he has started.

That is exactly what you implied.

Like I say, your concern is that 'the blacks' are going to beat me up.

No need to sign every post.
I didn't imply anything, I stated quite clearly that I think black people might find your witticism offensive. I did not use the phrase 'the blacks', or a 'black' which to my ear itself implicitly suggests a small minded, racist, perspective, and perhaps displays your own prejudices.

I like how nothing in that song is really ironic. It's...ironic.

"Ten thousand spoons when all you need is a knife. " What were you doing with ten thousand spoons? That's not ironic. It's just weird.
"Rain (Raiiiiaaan) on your wedding day". Not ironic. Just unfortunate....

Not really a debate, and I'm thankful I don't know Tynan. However, I will answer his charges if required. I think I should probably dislike him intensly were we to meet.

Momentum
Lots of big words and bored people with English degrees makes this thread fun to read, but mugs has a good point. Wheels' original photoshop work was witty and original, but now it's becoming a fairly crap in joke. Making jokes about riding bikes from one plantation to another to oversee the slaves (to paraphrase loosely from recent comments) may not be racist but it is fucking lame.

therin lies the point of that song and indeed the proof that alanis morrisette is hactually a genius. i know if she posted on here we'd be spell bound by her posts and stop this arguing right now just to see what genius she'd write next.
also she might have a go at my missing word game and come up with a real corker that would put everyone else to shame. oh hang on, no one else had a go. that puts me to shame. shame.

I've banned him for 7 days.

I really do not want to have to ban anyone, nor to even be required to moderate things. But, there it is... when it comes down to it I will ban if someone consistently shows that they're incapable of participating in the forum without simply throwing abuse at people. Is it too much to hope that a positive contribution to the community should outweigh the negative? In this case, apparently.

Taking anything into a different context from that which it was initially posted to support your hatred of a person isn't really very sporting is it? To be honest it's pretty pathetic.

You may take issue with tynan but he has been a part of this forum for a long time in comparrison to the twenty days that you've been signed up.
I suggest that if you do not like the tone of this forum then you'd probably be best served finding another forum to partake in. This place is full of inflamatory remarks and pisstaking, whether satirical or just plain obscene.

Of course there is another option which would probably serve us all better. Deal with this like an adult, stop trying to make people on the internet agree with you, forget about this thread and just get on with living. If your life (internet or real) crosses paths with tynan again then be civil, no one's asking you to be his friend. But you're obviously getting quite irate at your opinion of someone that you've never met.

I'd say that's just plain pointless.

Damn you. Banning people whilst I'm writing a reply to an argument that I've yet to join in is just not sporting.

mugs, you're at Oxford University. Do you understand what will happen to you if I inform your IT department of the misuse of university resources for the purpose of slander and verbal abuse, and how I will attempt to high-light this as an act of bringing the university into bad light? Do you know how they'll react to a complaint that would have compiled all of your previous posts into essay form and the way in which nearly all posts break some aspect of their acceptable use policy?

And, do you want to take that chance?

Run along little boy, you're annoying enough and have wasted enough of my time.
