word to 50:14..

I did schedule a whole day for this - sure there were a few less beers by the river than if things had gone smoothly but it didn't matter. Getting lost is a great leveller of ability... Cornelius's injury took up ages before we were on the road again just because it happened a fair way back and some of us had shot ahead anticipating the end.. but if we hadn't all waited for him it would have been lamer than Corny himself to raise our fourth pints to various wounded soldiers as they finally made it through the pub doors...much better we got to Cambridge as one for a big showboat through the town..

all in all we still spent all day in the gorgeous sunshine and had pretty much the same experience to share at the end of it.

I've learned from experience that group rides always take longer than people expect them to.

And they laughed at me for bringing my lights...

I think it was just under 80 miles in just over 5 hours of actual riding. I was gutted that I didn't have time to stop for beers once we arrived but the ride was real nice and there's something fantastic about the inclusive wait for everyoneness. That said I dread to think how long it would have taken without the organisation from Corny and the route finding from Andy and Claus!
