| | been home an hour, absolutely perfect day, glad that everyone made it there, especially g and cornelius with there respective injuries! feeling pretty tired with what was effectively a 90 mile ride when you add in getting lost and getting to start and home from the station had a good ride home from the station with a random chick on a black langster with no lights, said she was a courier with a bit of a canadian accent, anyone on here? see you at the next one! |

| | What a ride yo.. the pinchflats, the punctures, the wipeouts, the limbtears.... yes we took a bit longer than planned, but it was truly a beautiful day, and we rode, more or less, as one. (Some people's speed over thirty forty miles defies understanding though..impressive to say the least) Such a good feeling riding en masse into Cambridge town finally...and the countryside was fantastic. The weather proabbly couldn't have been better, it seemed to cool a bit towards the mid-afternoon as the gradients got a little more wearing.. Great ride guys, brilliantly organised and a day spent pretty much about as content as somebody can be. Hope noone's feeling too sore tomorrow. Last edited by pajamas; 10th May 2008 at 22:00.. Reason: didn't want "defies understanding" to seem anything other than admiring |

| | Was really great seeing such a turn up. 30+ riders, superb weather, beautifully rolling and quite route. Should have fired up the GPS a bit earlier then we might have saved on the little detour. Didn't want to come across as the gadegteer right from the beginning... Here an unsorted set of images Last edited by claus; 10th May 2008 at 22:18.. |

| | Thanks folks, for a great ride: just out of the shower now, with the sunburn and chafing abating a little. The ride showed the brilliance of the forum: camaderie as we sped and slowed then communal beers ....and all of Cambridge had turned out to welcome us! Lebowski and Cornelious: hope the wounds aren't too painful. Thanks to you both for directing the group. Special recogition for the guy (Dave?) who travelled to London from Hull to ride out with us, and the two Brighton guys- hope to get Preston Park to spin that track sometime. As Pilky said, too many names to mention- see you on next week's night ride. |

| | just got back in after a night out at a friends birthday in exmouth market. hurts like a muther, but got some herbal painkiller and it should be alright until I wake up in the morning. thank you to all of the guys that saw me crash and helped me get back on the bike big shout out for emile and hillbilly, for riding back to make sure I was okay. Twas a good day, murtle and mike c thanks for keeping the pace high, sorry if I sounded like a bitch at the post office, if you hadn't kept a good pace we wouldn't have got to cambridge before seven. Good beers at the end, and cheap train fares. Remind me to make sure I change out slow punctures, washing out the front at thirty down a hill ain't a good way to go. Great train journey back guys caught much joke, lebowski hope you got to the party okay. Anyway I'm off to bed now. See those of you who can make it out to south london beers on monday. |

| | The feeling down there is back, but I wish I didn't feel so much in my legs. Thanks for the ride, guys; great day to do it. it did feel like you guys were having a points race up at the front, but you waited so it's all good. Thanks to murtle, corny and flickwg for the encouragement up the inclines. Cheers to leboswki for arranging this. Great to see so many out for a ride; I'm sorry I didn't get around to chatting with most of you, but I was totally shattered most of the day. See you at the next one. I've now got to spend the day in Southall with my girlfriend while she shops for clothes - I'd rather be on my bike. Last edited by stompy; 11th May 2008 at 08:07.. Reason: spreading the love |

Glad you're okay. You also get the hard man prize for not squealing like a girl when I gave you the spray plaster unlike lebowski. Last edited by stompy; 11th May 2008 at 08:36.. | |

| | Lebowski went down in the pack. and scraped his arm. I didn't see what happened to Corny, but it had something to do with him losing his front wheel on a downhill. Sounds like it could have been really bad. He was full of praise for his Grobag which took most of the brunt of his fall. |

| | Was a real treat to meet you all at the Millpond in Cambridge, never seen so many cool bikes and riders in this town before ,was totally gobsmacked. Must be fate as that pub isn't my local and i was just going down there for a beer after work , would have tightened my chain if i'd known. thanx for the welcome, card and beer ,hopefully see you on the next outing. | | Excellent day gentlemen. After I got home and took a shower did I realise that the only thing that prevented me form getting sunburned was the fine layer of dirt, aka nature's sunblock. Total distances were - Hyde Park Corner to Cambridge - 74.89 miles Polo Court to Cambridge - 70.29 miles Corny's right, the best part of the day is the beer swilling train ride back. Hillbilly's "Corny, you could have exploded!" is still making me laugh. Shall we start organising the next one to Oxford? |

| | Here's some numbers: 35 people. 75 miles. On the road for 8.5 hours. Top speed of 34mph. In 27 degree heat. I drank 6 litres of water, probably could have done with 1 or 2 more. Absolutely awesome day. Apart from the minor stack at the beginning, I can honestly say I loved every minute of that ride. And Cambridge was fantastic. So many cute girls on bikes! Thanks to everyone for making the ride. We may have been going too fast or too slow for some, we may have taken too long and got lost a bit too often, but that's all part of a group ride, and I'll take that over slogging it out on my own for 75 miles any day. Bring on the next one. |

| | Another fantastic day out. Thanks to everyone for making it such a great ride. £100 spent on booze and it lasted about an hour! Surprsingly, all that hurts are the tops of my arms where I have some sunburn. I must have been really dehydrated. I kept waking up in the night in search of water. Must plan another one soon. How about Winchester or something bit further maybe 80 miles in preparation for Dunwich Dynamo? |
