If the route is the same as the one we did last year (which Danzel has a nice video up of) there's a long gentle drag out of London and then a few rolls in the countryside. I'm just saying incase anyone is as shit as going uphill as I am. These aren't difficult, I just think it'll spoil your day if you're expecting Amy Winehouse in her current state, and then get a profile that reflects her more curvaceous early days.

Disappointed that I'm going to have to give this one a miss. Have a good ride though, hope the weather is fine.

mike, the route we did in december had a detailed map. it's a good route. easy to navigate and no main roads, and despite what stompy says, there really aren't any hills. we were in to a bit of a headwind that day which just made it a little tougher than it is normally.

Yeah, maybe it seems worse than it was. I recall doing my fair share of pulling the line, though. Fuck it, I'm going to lasso myself to PJ.

I'm not trying to put anyone off, it's perfectly do-able, and nobody gets left behind. I never worried about getting lost because there was regroupment at major junctions.

At the risk of sounding like mother, I'd like to make some suggestions:

Bring water, bring food. There are a couple of stopping places along the way to replenish but don't get caught out.

Bring tools, spare tubes, pump. People are more than willing to help but you should try and be self reliant. Ever since the Docks and Skyscrapers ride, I carry a couple of tyre boots with me. I don't carry a chain breaker, because I wouldn't know how to use one. I also carry a small first aid kit.

Bring a spare shirt. Do you really want to be larging by the river in a minging sweat stained T?

Bring cash. I don't remember seeing any ATMs along the way.

Bring a lock. We can make a good bike stack with one lock each.

Swap few phone numbers at the start of the ride.

Most importantly - bring a smile. This is suppose to be fun you cnuts!
