hmm my van is off the road trying to make me afford tax and mot but i wont let up im afraid. in the meantime if you havent decided on a hire company i always use 1car1 or 1van1. i tink they have branches all over so give them a bell as you could pick it up and drop it somewhere different if the train fares are good. cheapest proper van hire i found, unlimited milage, ask for the extra insurance (£5 a day?) to cut your excess in half if the worst comes to worst. good luck.

Ha. My dad would haul furniture in his old van when I was a teenager, I hence spent many evenings / w/e and other time off helping him drive all over the place. Long wheel base high top and you could fit a lot in that, it's down to the packing, if the sofa can go on it's end (vertical) it will take up barely any room, and every thing else should stack well. Can't blame the guy trying to up sell you, that prob how he gets most of his biz. I would think the large non-luton van would do but it depends on what you consider a regular kitchens worth of base units is. Heave plenty of blankets e.t.c for packing to stop stuff banging against each other.
