Youts on scooters

I was chatting on Saturday night with a friend who told me a gnarly story...

Her and a friend were riding along one of the roads parallel to the canal between Kingsland Rd and Broadway Market one night a week ago. They passed some kids on scooters and carried on riding. The kids chased after them and took their back wheels out with the font wheel of there scooters. They both crashed, the kids U turned and stole one of their bikes(over the shoulder job) and made off leaving one of the girls bikes, after having nocked her off as well.

Not cool and one to be aware of...

I bet they just threw the bike in the canal afterwards. I used to see these little bastards do this shit all the time when I lived round there.

My studio is on Andrews road just by broadway market, couple of weeks ago I saw a gang of yoot walking along Andrews road by the railings that border the canal toe path. As a cyclist went past one of them shoved what looked like an 8 foot long white pole through the railings at them and then run off. The cyclist managed a great avoidance move and didn't end up in the canal but a lot of people would.

Unfortunately being on the 7th floor there was little I could do but watch it happen, almost in slow motion, and hope the cyclist was ok.

Little bastards,

dude, i saw EXACTLY this happen about a year ago between goswell road and st john street in clerkenwell. i was riding up st john street and i heard the scooters and this guy shouting "help! help! what do you want?!" etc - he came barelling out of a side street on his little folding brompton or whatever being chased by 4 kids on a pair of scooters, he stacked it trying to take the corner too fast, they scooped up the bike, threw it over a shoulder and were off. the poor bloke was fukken terrified. i got the number of one of the scooters and gave a statement to the police but turns out it was a false plate. proper put the willies up me i can tell you.

we need to fight back.

and yes, it is worth getting stabbed or killed for.

like war, people have to die defending their rights, if this country is becoming lawless, then we fight.

funnily enough, it wasn't me.

i am a school teacher and when it comes to the crunch, i am socialist. if some kids rode up to me on scooters, i probably think they were saying hello and offering to derny pace me up the street.

A girl in my dept at work had this happen to her last year. She was walking home through Dalston and yoots drove up behind her and grabbed her bag which was on her shoulder. It did not unhook down the lenght of her arm quickly enough and as a result they dragged her along the road on the floor as they burnt off. She was luck to get away with grazing and bruises but now has a serious problem walking home alone. This is shit as it curtails what she wants to do, where to go, how to get home etc. Scarey stuff. Fucking bastards.

I agree. I know I should'nt as that makes me as bad as them if I fight back, but fuck it you have to stand up and fight for some things. Touch wood on the mild mannered streets of Cambridge I havent been attacked or robbed (maybe as I am a 17 stone 6'3 skin head), but lets face it these attacks seem to be pretty indescripnate so keep an MTB handy to throw at their heads when they try to run you down and nick your ride.

Oi dogsy what what you say about Milton Keynes man, that's where I'm from.

Shackles and Chains!!! Shackles and Chains!!!!

'MK', as we call it, is the only city in the country that has decent cycle paths. (Shame no one there uses 'em, you can't get furry dice looking good on a bike you see).

So, to sum up, only people from there can slag it off, not you.
