Ha! We're freaks! I think we should start making a wish list of things we wish reporters would/wouldn't say.

1. Started with couriers out, started with the first ever bike in.

that was an ok spot to be fair, short and sweet, credible information, no mention of brakeless etc etc... of course they're gonna call it a 'fixie', it's way more catchy than 'fixed gear bike' (even though i think it's an 'orrible word). It means they can label a whole scene, it's the media all over.

"this...is a fixie... which means it's got no freewheel and you have to use your legs to brake"

does not dispel the myth that all fixed wheel riders are brakeless lunatics.

it's fair ennough though, i was at spitalfields yesterday and fixed wheel bikes were by far the most common. i'm sure of it. every other rider was on one. why buy a hybrid when you can ride a charge plug?

I find it so funny that we're so eager to slag off any kind of recognition of our beloved bikes/culture/whatever by 'outsiders'. do we think that bikes are a good idea or not? are we worried that it'll become a trend (it already has)? what is the problem? i know it's a bit embarassing to watch but who cares?
