I reckon the forks were probably made to resemble the frame in that case. I thought they stopped making flying gates years and years ago? Either that or it's a recent custom job, but I can't understand why someone would get a custom built flying gate frame with ahead.

What if someone knocked this person off their bike? It's not like they could say they didn't see it.

I can't either to be honest. Although it would be handy if you wanted to run different stems.
I bet you could get a flying gate made now if you had enough money. Even pay a framebuilder to make one who has nothing to do with the originals.

Yep, still made to order http://www.tjcycles.co.uk/
Not the original (Baines) but Trevor Jarvis bought the rights to make them.

My Dad's got one or two in his collection. He's never got round to building one up, I'd love to have a go on one.

Enough speculation - You're all winners!
EDIT - Link is to FgGallery - the frame was the last one built By Trevor Jarvis - all modern custom-made, hence the choice of Ahead / threadless.

thanks prav! Realy doesn't match the frame style, but hey, I can't talk, I ride a bike with my hands below my knees.

Its possible it belongs to that person in the picture or someone nearby. Not everywhere is as high crime as London you know :D

Also if Arrospoks look like they suit any bike ever it'd have to be street mountain bikes.

Indeed. This was on St Pete Beach on the Gulf coast. If there's any crime the Police (if they want to) can just close down the bridges that you use to gain access to the island. They'd find you in the end!

There are plenty of bikes with 16 or sub 16" wheels. But of course who would actually ride it for more than 10 miles? its not a bike for that really.

I thought it was a student project,

that bike needs way too much work to go into production.

Its sssooo much finickier than those A bikes and I bet it rides worse, costs & weighs more too.
