Sat 12th April - London to Southend-on-Sea II: The (new date)

Last year we done the London to Southend-On-Sea in a rainy day, this year I want to ride till there but in a sunny day!
Me and a few friends are going to ride from London to Southend in 3 or 4 weeks time.
Everyone is welcome to join us...

I`ll try to find out if the Pier is open to the public as the last time it was closed.

I`d like to get the A13 till Dagenham then get the B-roads till Southend-On-Sea , same route as last year.

If is too windy or rainy Im NOT going. Hopefully in 3/4 weeks the weather will be much better.

cheers

Set a date, and I'll add it to the unfeasibly large list of stickied threads.

I prefer just one way... just 45 - 60 miles , then the train back which is around 7 pounds....

but if everyone wants to back riding we can do that...

I'll try to grab a piece of this - also missed the last one - but I'm right with you on rain & wind issue Mario....if I'm gonna ride 60 or so miles then I'd really rather do it on a pleasantish day!

Main roads for the first bit, then suburban, then really small windy back roads when we got a little lost, then countryside.
Then chips :-)

Reckon I'd be up for this. Usually free on Saturdays. Still haven't been on a fgss ride so that would be great. Weather pending of course.

Geared. Much fun. Especially watching you all shit yourselves on that enormous downhill when everyone was spinning and roberto and I just tucked in and coasted down. Damn impressed that a couple of riders were still keeping up with us though.

Wasn't that the hill where the accident happened at the bottom?

secret? just buy a green tape at Evans, put it between the tyre and the tube...done! no more punctures!!!

tape anti puncture: 12 pounds
pair of zaffiro: 10 pounds
no puncture: there is no price!! lol

Don't mind going by fixie at all, if you use a low gear and a front brake (for road riding) it's ok, only sucks on the downhills...

But if Hippy go with his bling-bling road bike then i will have to go with mine then!

Great I need an excuse to see if my fixie will take me that far without killing me. I'm not up for riding in the rain especially since DD 07', which was enjoyable but I imagine better without wet pants. Chips and candy floss are good um' K
