At around the 1 minute mark it looks like a proper TdF vid with the old motorbike rider zooming up to the front of the peleton. Were you on a Vespa or something?? :0)

Getting a trailer for the boy is an option definitely in mind for this summer, but I don't think he'd enjoy being in it for 4-5 hours! Oof! Sounds nasty, Scarlett. Hope it clears up soon, but could it wait until after the Rapha race? ;0)

| | That was epic - wish I coulda stayed and had a few more pints guys but the ride itself was amazing. Moments of despair halfway up some of the longer hills and terror halfway down the other side. Nice to meet you all and will definitely be coming on some more in the future (will have my feet in some way attached to the pedals next time...) Slamm excellent vid! So woke up in Brighton this morning to a good few inches of snow - needless to say I hadn't packed my studded tyres so the slither back to the station was a bit hairy. Nice one though see you all soon. |

| | Getting back on topic...... good to meet a few people and a cracking ride. Looking forward to the next. Anyone from the beach - did you pick up a grey waterproof? I took it off at the bar to change my top, got to London in the pissing rain and realised it wasn't in my bag and instead in Brighton. |

| | just to say thoroughly enjoyed the ride l's and g's. good to put that curse to bed (okay hippy b2l may be cursed but that is something else). big thanks from the wilkinson exchequer to cornelius for getting that slowy on the down to the sea. great vid slamm, big respect for some pretty high speed one-handed shooting. under four hours ride time is pretty respectable and showed there was a couple of fast intervals in there. and good to see a lot of new faces and some real nice bikes. brilliant turnout. catch you all soon. perhaps even on the way to southend on saturday. |

| | Yeah. Seriously, most people on here could get over 1000W peak. Well, it's easy for me, you skinny legged Lunduners might have to try harder :) As Veeb says, it's more about averages. E.g. Threshold Power is what power output you can hold for an hour. This is quite important value for TT's and road races. Things like 1min peak power is important for bridging gaps or breaking away. Essentially, you collect as much data as possible and you will get a spread of power for different durations. Higher power for shorter duration, obviously. The aim is to make these as high as possible and particularly to focus on the ones specific to your event. For me, threshold power is much more important than peak power (which would be much more useful for a match sprinter). Coach and I are both new to all this stuff so I'm still really only collecting data at this point, not using it to train with yet.. |
