| | Was going to fit dirt harrys to the fixed, but the change of frame has brought with it a minor change of colour scheme. Lots of caliper levers out there like the harrys with silver lever on black bracket, I may just decide to strip and polish, but can anyone point to nice silver levers? Lust after Paul Loves, but £££ ouch. |

| | I have these.... http://biddlebikes.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=296_300_153&products_id=185 just be warned that if you order them from this shop don't be surprised if you don't get them for 3 weeks, which is how long it took to get mine. I have now switched the brake cable to be on the other (correct) side of the lever :) ![]() |

| | I really like the Specalized ones - they have a good shape and use a bolted pivot (not rivetted) so easy to strip and adjust. Find they have a better feel than the Cane Creek ones. This pic shows two - obviously not run like, it was done to show the advantage of using a shimmed 31.8 (OS) lever with a 26.4 Cinelli size bar (- lever can go right up to the stem leaving much more hand room on the tops: ![]() |

Has anyone ever tried striping dirty harrys? The mounts seems coated, I think its either thick paint or palstic. | |

| | Most modern stuff whether it is black or even silver is anodized which cannot be polished - you need to strip the anodizing off first to get to the bare aluminium. A strong alkali like caustic soda is used to dissolve the anodizing. Take care though - nasty stuff, protect your eyes especially. For polishing a proper bench polisher is obviously easier but you can do it by hand - eBay search for 'Belgom Alu'. Spec' levers like many bike bits are shot-peened too which makes it a bit more faff to cut back and get an even shine. |
