Hello all. I've been cycling single speed for a couple of years now but have only ever bought off the peg. My (uninsured) Paddy Wagon was nicked last Friday and I need to find a cheap replacement fast. Have just seen this - http://www.gumtree.com/london/21/19009421.html - for £200 and would really appreciate some advice on whether it's a good deal or not. If I have to take one more tube journey this week I'm gonna quit my job.

my advice, spend a bit more and get a fuji track, Giant bowery or Charge Plug.

conversions with no decent parts and heavy tubes ain't really worth £200

Good man. I've had my eye on the Charge Plug, but the temptation of doings things on the cheap is always hard to resist. Guess I'll put anothe week's worth of credit on the Oyster Card and wait for pay day. Thanks.

Yeah what RPM said.

A conversion with a half-link chain, don't really understand why you would want to bring your axle closer in - avoid.
