| | All this talk about everyone being 0.2% Scottish. It's crazy. My birth certificate says born in Rutherglen, my post code starts with G41, all of my relatives* going back at least 4 generations were all born and stayed in Scotland. I agree that a lot of Americans claim to be a nationality that they're not. The majority of Americans with this view are 100% American with a Scottish, Irish, Italian ancestry. The thing that gets me is: What about the English-Americans. Surely there are more of these than there are Scottish and Irish-Americans. They founded the damn place. No-one seems to be proud of being English-American. *I only really know about grandparents/great grandparents/great great grandparents. Not sure about the uncle/aunt equivalents |
