wouldn't that really really fuck up your knees? from high revs to none (I know thats the idea behind skidding (ish) but thats a conscious action you undertake)
but cause some serious skidding to be easy as pie.

If that's someone here I'll eat my tight orange shorts with a perished chamois gusset - look at that slack chain (well, I will eat them if those eabyers don't bid over my reasonable reserve of $99.99)

This is a trick nicked from the custom bike scene - in fact it is quite common to see custom bikes with sprocket rotors:

I have seen the front sprocket rotor too - i have been considering building one for a ss mtb i am working on - it does work very well . . well unless the chain snaps!

How is that like a sprotor? It's more like a tranny brake.

Re: disc brake on other side of BB. This truly is an ill-thought-out concept.

You're going downhill fast.
Spinning out.
You use the disc brake to slow you down.
The disc becomes hot. Very hot

Now, who here hasn't gotten oil on their leg from accidental contact with a chainring at some point?

I think he was going for something similar - inspired by a front sprotor of a transmission brake:

Did you say Ardbeg? What year? I had (consumed all of it) a bottle of the 10 that was very nice. Thats the only one I have tried to this point, of their product line....would like more reviews on other years.DW

According to the site selling the 3rensho time trial bike, it was made for "the Monster" masamitsu Takizawa, 'a very famous racer. He won all the G-1 Titles'. they've bought a few of his old renshos.... does anyone here happen to know anything else about the guy?

The ten it is, and lovely too. Like old fishermen's boots, I always think. The bourbon/sherry casked, cask strength Uigeadail looks sexy, and the Still Young is bound to be interesting (Ardbeg untempered by age? Asking for trouble…). Whilst I haven't tried either of these yet, if you're a fan of a touch of Isla, my personal tipples of choice are the Talisker 10 and the super-salty Caol Ila 12 (the 18 doesn't quite tickle me as much: nearly finished the duty-free litre-size though. Finally). I recently tried a new(ish) addition from Bruichladdich distillery, PC6, that was simply stunning. Not too cheap (£60-odd per bottle), but really worth every penny.

I have had a bottle of Caol Ila before, but dont recall the vintage. Liked it much! The bottle of 10 year old Bruichladdach that I had was quite the surprise. I took a liking to it right away. I am more of a Speyside and Islay drinker, but have a real soft spot for Dalwhinnie, which is claimed to be a highland malt, but is flavored more like a Speyside. Thanks for the notes. I'll try and find the PC6 here in the states.DW
