RA Cycles in Brooklyn is well worth a visit. Not sure how much track/singlespeed kit they stock though.

I just got back - Abridged version: trackstar?. 2 good shops in Lower Eastside (Bikeworks + ?) , another couple in Brooklyn. (King Kog + ?)

Take a big suitcase.
A big list here, but not all that up to date.
You can hire SS (not sure about fixed) from Manhattan Velo on E17th by Union Square.

Is it Bicycle Habitat in the Lower Eastside, i went there and they were pretty friendly. Trakstar was shut.

i was there in september and december, obviously trackstar and nyc vello, there was a really neat shop in brooklyn, i think it was on grant street, around Havemeyer, maybey\ a little past it. Foodswings is also right there. good eats
