hands smell of meat ? that would make you the 'Crafty Butcher' ... happy new year old bean from the resident 'ladyboy'... while I am at it I am off to buy some oven cleaner got to take that e-lever back to silver

Don't forget to make sure you get one that has sodium hydroxide in it and it will etch into the silver part much quicker than the black clamp area !

Ionly tried it on the black clamp,it was pretty slow to work, so I attacked it with the dremmel...just polishing it now with emery paper. I left the 'PAUL' and the 'SPADES-CLUBS-HEARTS-DIAMONDS' in black...you reckon I ought etch the 'lever' also to obtain an exact match..?

Depends on what your final finish will be, if you are going to spray with automotive aerosol you will need to give the paint/primer a 'key' to mechanically hold on to.

The silver lever part, if sprayed, will chip fairly easily unless you give it a good key through chemical etching, dremeling or sandpaper. The 'Paul' and 'spade/club/heart/diamond' design won't stay black for long if you spray the clamp ! :)
