| | In genral round town can't see the point espcially if your ride is short. However not every one lives in Hackney, I have met people that ride in from zone 5 and 6 (talking about 20 miles one way) so you would be changing your cloths when you get to work so may as well wear the best stuff for the job. |

| | Yes. I swore I'd never wear lycra but there comes a point where 'undies' do more harm than good. For me, that point was about 80k rides in Aussie heat. I've been a lycra lout since so now it's just habit to wear it. If I'm going somewhere where 'normal' appearance is useful I may wear it under jeans or shorts but I usually sweat so much riding that I may as well walk/tube it if that's the case! If I'm rolling down the hill to the shops I'll not bother but 95% of my commutes are in lycra. If I make it to the Southend ride I promise I won't scare you all - I'll wear something over my knicks! :P (I'm actually waiting for some shy shorts to be delivered - not sure if they'll arrive before then) |

| | I've never riden in it because the most I ever do in a day is about 50 miles (in short stints and rearly) but people would not wear it unless it was good. You don't see these 400 km Audax guys and girls in jean and audax rides seem to be all about praticality nowt to do with trends, roady style or urban style. the-smiling-buddha I would geuss that most courier work is short stints, even if you do 70 miles in a day not really in the saddle for 3 hr solid, more ride for a few miles off for a bit into an office repeat type thing meaning that jeans are less of a problem. This is a geuss like I said so correct me if I am wrong. |

| | I have a GIOS cycling cap, it is without doubt the gay'ist thing I own, I don't know what possessed me to buy it, I leave it by the front door, I put it on, look in the mirror, CRINGE, and there it stays by the front door ....actually I have a bad habit of buying this kinda crap on ebay |

| | when I was a courier, I was given some lycra shorts to try out, I wore them for a few days, them office birds, they just kept on staring at my (not insignificant) bulge, I'd blush, they would giggle, I really bloody BLUSH, they would laugh, I couldn't handle it, it did my nut in |

| | I like lycra. Does the job well. It keeps you cool on hot days, warm on cold days, wicks away sweat and light rain, smells fresh after a long ride, is comfortable and doesn't catch on the saddle like looser clothing can. It just works. I ride lycra all the time, though in the city I wear Chrome or Rapha shorts on top. If I know I'm doing more than around 50 miles, I forego any outer layer that would make me fit into a pub easier and just go full lycra. On-bike comfort is a higher priority than looks for me. |

| | I ran into an Evans today to get out of the rain and to kill time was going to try on those Humvee shorts. Some knob had put the security tag through the knicks and the shorts parts with the knicks in backwards! How the fsck are you meant to try them for size - either the knicks are unwearable (being backwards) or there's a bunched up lump of lycra in the shorts. Wouldn't be the first time I've left an Evans thinking 'd1ckheads!'. |

| | The number of urban riders grows every year, but we are often forced to choose between functional but unattractive cycling clothing or making do with everyday clothes. The Rapha FIXED. range is inspired by the demands of riding in town and the style and practicality of fixed wheel bikes. Each garment is designed for commuting in all weathers, but also with enough style to be worn in the office. http://www.rapha.cc/index.php?page=169 I like the RETRO look, do you think they do hobnail boots and all |

![]() they even come with a special 'insert' The FI.Uno insert is made out of 4 different components that are shaped to support and contour the body’s anatomy when in motion. Its seamless-touch surface construction features a road shock absorbing foam cushioning that is bonded onto the elastic, frictionless, skin contact textile. Mesh net insert in-between the braces provides a more stable fit by preventing bib-short movement. I think I am going to be sick...:( | |
