| | Cycling shorts under baggies/combats is a winner. Longer 3/4 leg or full leg in the winter, and some nice lightweight lycra in summer. Would never wear it 'out' tho. Used to do the full roadie thing in a past life, and it was good for training/racing, but not needed for commuting. Plus you look like a dick at the pub! Keep it covered people. |

| | Lycra is 60% less ghey than a thread devoted to discussing what to wear when riding. If anything wearing Jeans on a bike is ghey because its a fashion choice. You don't see canoeists ditching their wet suit for jeans, or wearing their wet suit under jeans. That would be ghey. Lycra is functional. If you are riding for function then lycra works, if you are riding for style then quick, get your rolled up hipster jeans. If your ghey, discuss it on a forum. That said, I chimed in on this rather ghey thread and I ride in jeans or shorts usually. Peace |

| | If, like me, you sweat a lot in hot weather, lycra is a good friend, as is helps prevent chafing. Wearing lycra running shorts, it was only natural to progress to lycra cycling shorts. Oh, and you simply have to use Vasoline on your middle meat and nipples, too. Nothing gay about that... |
