| | Hi. First time poster but a big fan of the forums. I've been a commuting cyclist in London for ten years, and I want to try riding a FG bike. I'm not a courier, just a media wanker type who wants to look like one, so the bike isn't going to get really harsh treatment. I'm looking at this bike: Charge Plug It's a cheapo, but I wondered if you think it will get me from Finsbury park to the West End five times a week. Any of you know anything about it? Thanks |

| | Hi fakenger35, Welcome. There is a whole thread about this bike here http://www.londonfgss.com/discussion...-plug/#Item_39 I own one, and do Wimbledon to Tower Bridge quite happily daily. Its a bit heavy but its nice and solid and fun to ride. Hope that helps. |

| | Two Wheels Good are fine for geared bikes, and they've recently started stocking fixed bikes, but I would go down to BLB and try a few out in the same price range. You are much more likely to return there further down the line becuase TWG doesn't stock a great deal of fixed stuff besides the off-the-peg bikes. |

| | I was in BLB yesterday and they had a Plug in stock if you want to try one - had a couple of other off-the-peg bikes too. Plug looks great but it's heavier than I am. But it's way, way more fun to get a frame and build it up yourself - it's not hard and it needn't be more expensive. |

| | Thanks Fatbloke I'll try and get down there tomorow. I would love to build a bike up from scratch, but I know it would end up taking too long, and I'd end up with a room full of half assembled bits and a cross wife. Just like that time I decided I could fix the washing machine... |
