I am thinking of doing a ride this Sunday to Rochester. Anyone fancy it? I would want leave 9 ish. 2hr there quick eat 2hr back. est I don't know the route so don't know how long it would take.

Route something like this.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=&time=&date=&ttype=&saddr=W oolwich,+Greater+London,+United+Kingdom&daddr=Roch ester,+Medway,+United+Kingdom+to:meopham+to:woolwi ch&sll=51.374352,0.402374&sspn=0.179165,0.466919&d irflg=h&ie=UTF8&ll=51.388495,0.363922&spn=0.17911, 0.466919&z=11&om=1

Or if you have an alternative route suggestion for me to go on around 50 miles out and and back distance. I would like to try out kent as I have never ridden out that way.

Hope you don't mind, Mr TheBrick, but I've Bikely'ed your route so you can view the profile (click on show, then profile).

Rochester Ride

The profile gets lost a bit near the end sadly. The route out follows the TdF stage until it reaches Higham. The roads from Cuxton to Longfield are nice, the profile shows an enormous mountain, but it's just a bit draggy in reality.

Could possibly join you (would have to check with the diary, aka the wife), but would be on a road bike and I'd swing off at Meopham as I live just 6 miles SSE (as the crow flies) from there. Couldn't get to the start until about 9:15am though.

Only thing about rides to Kent is that you have to ride through a fair chunk of London to get there. If anyone wanted to do a Kent ride and travel down by train to a mainline station I'd be up for it. I'm from near Maidstone, but can easily get to any other station. Best would either be Sevenoaks (30 mins from Charing Cross), or Swanley (25 mins from Victoria). But that's for another day for another thread. This is Tommy's thread and ride :0)

Cool thanks for the bikey think. I never bother with it I did not realize it did a profile.

You are right about the problem of having to ride through London but that is the case for any getting out of London rides, unless you take the train like you said.

Maybe will speak to the g'unit tonight, see if I can swap sat for sun and sun for sat, but keeping sat in tmp while I swap sat for sun and then swaping tmp for sun other wise I would end up with sat equaling sun and then what would all the vicars do?
