I like to do the canal ride when the weather is like this.. Today I'm riding back east from greenford. take me a couple of hours following the tow path but it's a lot better than a sweaty tube ride.

It has that authentically wilted look.

I have only just found this thread and I must say I am amazed. I have an upcoming show at the Kemistry Gallery in Shoreditch titled "Authentic Surfaces: The Fixie Colony Algorithms" (working title). I have been out all summer photographing the exact same spots mentioned in this thread! Ha ha! I am particularly proud of the Brick Lane photo with a rare white tyre skid mark.

I don't mean to be rude but a lot of people think my work is a joke. They don't say it but I can tell in conversation.

When I get a date from Graham for the gallery opening I will post it on here. It will be so cool to get a load of you guys to turn up with your rides.

I want to believe that you're trolling, but I can't deny the fact that those photos have actually been taken (and taken properly). Fuuuuuck.

I always rate a good park. Places like Greenwich park are good because, the scene is smaller there so people are more easily impressed by a good long skid, however it lacks the necessary urban decay.

My personal favorite is Finsbury park, enough urban decay, but not to much, lots of foot traffic, a cool place to chill. If they are running the anti racism festival there again this year that would be a very authentic place to ride. I think you'd max out at that event.

It's viral marketing of the show. Dean simply knew about it before he posted. Nothing particularly brilliant about it. (I'm sure most people are aware of that, anyway, I'm not trying to pretend I'm the first one to have worked that out. No, really.)

I have a friend who uses that saying as an excuse to do anything.

In the pub "Another beer and a couple of shooters?"
to which she replies... "When in Rome..."

We were in Frankston.

I'm of to do authentic trackstands on the corner of Hanbury st & Commercial rd.
The Golden Hart is probably the most authentic spot in London.

which lane though? i've had problems with patchy trackstanding authenticity on commercial road, west-bound. i don't want to risk it eastbound so now i just rlj.

This corner is most authentic if you are on Hanbury Street heading west through Spitalfields into the City, so All Saints would be on your right.

Thanks guys! I missed all the positive feedback here today because I have been in the studio creating some new work.

One thing I am planning is stenciling various words on to the gallery wall - such as fakenger, realenger, walkenger, cockenger etc.enger. I am collecting used oil to do the stenciling from Brick Lane Bikes, King Kog in NY and I am going to approach Tomity to get some used NJS grease sent over from JP.

The police are going to lend me a range of bolt cutters that were collected as evidence from real life bike thievers. I will display them ont the wall with lines drawn around them by hand. This is a reference to the way bike shops outline their tools and the way police outline bodies on CSI.

Next, I love the phrase HTFU so I will get huge yellow mylar ballon letters filled with helium and have the word floating above Charlotte Road. They will be connected by a rubber pipe to a 1970s track pump (if I can find one). This will be a bit more Pop than my usual style but I think it will be worth it for the dazzle factor.
