I only took my bag coz I'm fakenger scum.. no wait.. it was to put my jacket in since even if I was in full roadie kit, my jacket doesn't fit into a jersey pocket.
Most road rides are done with bare minimum of kit. Enough to keep you going but any serious stuff needs a train ticket/ambulance :)

Have you ever tried freezing bananas BMMF? If you leave them in too long they go a bit weird, but if you get it right they taste a bit like white chocolate.

Yeah, I think I mentioned that ;)

I'd recommend following through that chain of thought, and custom ordering a 1kg slab of white chocolate with banana chips and cinnamon from Montezumas. As an Xmas present. You deserve it.

Tape it to a stick about a foot long, attached to your helmet or stem, and get places much quicker.

Bumping.

Weather is grim now but hopefully will clear up by Sunday.

Hey jonny (or anyone) please tell me the route I should take if you can't make it for some reason. (like gales)

I will be going even if it is snowing so would verily appreciate if you could tell me a good back-lanes way to get there.

Cool - I started the thread so I am going what ever, even bought a rear mudguard.

I just know I can't expect too much company if the weather is bad.

nah you didn't really drop me in it, i am definitely in. haven't done anything over 40-50 clicks for a month now.

let's hope the weather perks up a bit to get the numbers up. otherwise it's a two man TT all the way - though i won't be wearing guards so you might be happier on the front ;)

so is there likely to be an east or north london pickup? i'm based kings cross/holloway and seems a bit silly to cycle over to HPC just to turn around and cycle back again.... and if so, anyone wanna join me in joining this side? oh, weather dependent i'm afraid

dOcA - how about a pick-up in London Fields for you (if the weather is good) and friend (if you are going) and anyone else that would rather rendezvous east-sdie. we can pretend it is the start of dunwich dynamo and in fact the first 10 miles or so will be the exact same.

sound okay?

still meet Hyde Park Corner - so anyone from south and west can hook up then we will cruise to London Fields to pick up people there. that's what I am suggesting anyway.

Yeah makes sense, we wait at Hyde Park Corner for a little bit then ride to London Fields.
Anyone who is running late to HPC can high-tail it over to London Fields where we will wait a bit more..

London Fields - let's say outside Pub in the Park.

timing. We will do Hyde Park Corner at 0930. So looking at London Fields at 1000, give or take 10/15 mins for late comers. okay everyone?

regular trains between cambridge and kings x. can't tell you what time one we will make. it will depend on how long those celebratory drinks last, etc.

you will make the distance. it is a relatively flat ride so you just keep the pedals turning. wear padded shorts if you are not used to long rides. it will be a good one.
