| | Weird 'click' noise from drivetrain Recently I've notice that there's a sporadic 'click' sound (feel through my feet to be precise) at every couple of rotation, usually when i'm trackstanding, defintely not the pedal as I temporary swapped them for clipless one (and almost fell over since I hasn't use them in years!). could it be the frame being a bit flexy? as it's not a pure track frame to says the least, or perhaps I swapped the Miche Advanced chainring with a Campangolo one that's slighty thinner? UPDATE: problem solve, a mere case of the crankset not being tighten enough to the BB, it was nowhere near the recommended torque. Last edited by edscoble; 15th May 2009 at 21:37. |

| | I know this is going to sound strange, but check handlebar/stem interface. mine used to click all the time on my BJ. then check your chain, and see if any links are tight. then check all the drivechain right down to the crankbolts. oh and i've also found it can sometimes be the cog as it settles in. |

| | fail wording on my part, more track specific, not literally. there's no click sound when I put the bike on the stand, spinning the crank doesn't seemed to make noise, only when I'm trackstanding or applying a bit of force when turning. Are you sure it's not just the bike frame flexing a bit? |

Clicks 'n ticks are usually from non-moving parts, ie interfaces. Saddle against post, post against frame, frame against clamp, etc, etc....

The Miche bolts are defintely quite weak.

| | I had this problem on my old MTB. Every time I put some good pressure on the pedals, the clicking/squeeking noise started. If you're completely sure it's not the pedals, then maybe fixing that crankbolt and getting a good one will fix it? Thinking that crank might be just sliiiiightly loose, so it moves abit when pressure's applied and makes the noise. |

| | Everyone stop posting, I've already sort it out, but thanks netherless. tighten the crank, clicking disappear, ride smoother than melted butter on a baby's arse. The crank is simply not tightened enough to the BB, I didn't notice it because it feel solid and stable, thank fuck for that as I carefully chosen the component specifically to ensure a smooth and reliable ride. in which case, chances are its the miche BB, as though I never had a problem with mine, lots of people complain about them coming loose, and clicking. But yeah, the handlebar click is a hidden menace that is slowly taking down bicycle riding from the inside... sinister fucks, thats why I ride using my finger and the stem. | |

| | Fixed again, the clicking noise was still there, but not so noticable when the cranks wasn't tightened. it turn out that the Campangolo chainring on a Miche Advanced cranks wasn't entirely in-line with the chain, it was at less a little under a millmetre out and consquencey cause the clicking sound (I think, or the teeth shaped slighty different to the Miche). swapped it back to the Miche Advanced chainring - perfection. |
