the long stem from my old bike combined with the generous drop proved to be wrist-crushingly uncomfortable. I don't like the way it looks at the moment, either, and agree that it is, indeed, very strange. Only temporary, though, until the short stem comes in - at which point i may still switch to cheapo mtb riser bars... i don't know how much i'm into the pursuit horns, after the initial infatuation that made me get them... :( Vic: yes, i was up at the polo, once. on the day i finished the iro build. it's my first fix after single-speeding for a couple of years and after falling onto a motorcyclist (nice enough guy) at some lights on high holborn for forgetting that my feet were strapped in, I'm loving it. d:o)= Addie: spotted you bombing down commercial street towards our house from shoreditch high st. a couple of nights ago. hairy-faced and maniacal looking. in a light drizzle...

| | +1 for the sun, but I would have thought the falcon would have given more space with its generous front patio, not that many places to lock bikes, though we could lock them together and lean against the wall, though when it warms up it will be oversubscribed. When are south lahndan drinks then? Not tonight I hope as I'm doing westie drinks, maybe it should be a regular wednesday night thing, that way I can go to both. |

| | Ah hello David/sprocketeer - we (mattster blaster + I) were in the Diner just last night actually! I don't think the IRO looks strange though. Do you happen to own another red/orange French-brand fixed affair with ano red deep v's too? It was locked up on the post near the door, very nice it was. Laura and messenger friend (Jacqui? with the mercian) were in the Diner also - london fixed riders' favourite eatery or what! |

Haven't been to The Sun since playing a gig there about 20 years ago, thought it had long gone! Falcon's OK, full of rugger types and 'Clapham Girls' tho'... The Prince Regent near Herne Hill's a good spot too, lots of wooden tables outside/space for bikes...

| | hello vic. no, the other orange affair isn't mine but i know and admire it. i think it belongs to a dude who works in one of the shops or offices on curtain road. yes: the diner is definitely where the fixed get their fix these days. when were you in? where did you sit? i was working last night from 6 until about 11 but primarily scuttled about in the basement sorting bottles of beer... |
