the (american) word hipster really gets on my tits. it's worse than fixie. most people riding fixed gear track bikes are hipsters in some sense, including me. who cares?

the above quote was just a bit of an off-hand mickey-taking comment, but the hipster thing isn't all about bikes, for instance there's a pub in Tooting that used to be quite rough, it re-opened all ponsed up and lots of trendy young people appeared in it, some of my friends said "where have all these hipsters appeared from?"

I'd rather go to that pub with the hipsters (even if they do wear scarves and caps indoors, with t-shirts) than the more "earthy" type of regular that used to frequent there..
