ah wicked. yeah i thought i saw you inside, but your all-clad-in-black-in-the-dead-of-night ninja techniques meant that as soon as i turned around to say something, youd vaporized. loved the note tho - quite touching!

I'm not that short I suppose (5' 2"), plenty of people shorter than me ride bikes bigger than mine, but I think it's better to ride something slightly too small than too big for you. I don't know the general opinion on that though - what do other people think?

Rims wise, just bought deep V's, grey ano 28h which I will be having powdercoated baby blue (like the Celeste colour Velocity currently do). My bike will be, er, pastel bling! I really should have gone for a 32h to make the hub search easier... but these were cheap, and I can get quite cheap Suzue hubs for them I suppose.

I did play polo once. The mallet came way up to my elbow

i spoke to a south african once on my commute after he nearly got hit by a lorry running a red light at the worst possible time. i gave him some genuine, heartfelt, subtle advice and asked if he was ok. he threatened to kill me, in a sort of boer-frontier-eugene-terreblanche voice. since then i've been a bit more reticent.

oh and i think i saw andy cavendish cycles, riding what looked like a flat bar cannondale, WITH GEARS, and a whole heap of boxes in some sort of impromptu bungee arrangement. moving house, apparently.

I see people riding fixed all over the place, I tend to look at them like they are a piece of shit that someone's just walked in.

that stops 'em grinning. the fake bastards.

apart from the odd glimpse of Monsignor Bicicletas, I don't think I've ever seen anyone I know (unless already riding with them)

I try to test the water with a nice gentle "morning" or a nod or summink, but mostly get vague scowls from the courier brigade. Unless something stupid happens like almost running the red with two bicycops (aka 'pigs on wheels') sitting at it, or nearly being cab-fodder. In which case y'all are the friendliest lot in the world!

"Mo shouting mo friends." Anyone else foresee a London overwhelmed by confused pedestrians and hollering cyclists?

Saw edmundane off my bike today in covent garden, I waved and he walked straight past me on the same side of the road and didn't say anything!! :( You looked kind of serious, hope nothing bad had happened!

Saw someone with 2 green deep vs last night while riding no-handed. Smiled, then tried to wave as you went past the other way and very nearly lost control of my bike completely. You probably thought i was a spacker.

didn't think. knew.

EDIT - wasn't actually me. i'm just being mischievous ;-) i don't ever see anyone except the courier brigade and no one ever spots me cos my bike ain't cool enough, apparently. i do see andy and the cavendish lads a lot, tho - very helpful people, thanks for helping my mate get his single-speed fixed the other day (if you're reading).

spooted (not spotted) @ kingsland rd, heading norf, about 9.30 this mornin...

yellow (almost safety yellow) track frame, dude in near-matching yellow safety jersey, nice wheels and oh-so-quiet. strange thing was his seat tube - dont know who makes them, but theres a girl who i see around on - assumedly - the same make; the frame is monotone, while the seat tube has a contrasting color spiraling down it; in his case his was yellow with black detail (sweet!) and in hers, its pink with white detail.

any one know who makes thesa frames? is they custom?
