Powder coat/Armourtex/respray gallery

I have had my sister-in-law's nice Basso frame powder coated by Armourtex and I was a little disappointed that it didn't come out as I had hoped - although it has grown on my and I now think it looks lovely.

Armourtex don't really have a lot of samples therefore I think it would be useful for us to have a little reference thread where people, who are planning to have their frame re-sprayed, can have a look what it all looks like in the end.

Armourtex use the RAL colour system so I think it would be useful if people could include which colour they had.

BIG FAT DISCLAIMER: The way colours are being displayed on a computer is dependent on a whole lot of things: the settings of the camera, the editing software (if used), the image format, the displaying screen! Therefore treat these photos as a rough guide.

I'm going to start:
RAL 3002 with metallic finish:

Or as I call it "Pretty Mint Green", with gloss lacquer and glittery bits.

keep this thread going, i'm thinking about getting my frame done, that flecked metallic finish is too tempting - would look amazing in in a dark gray. (like that nagasawa that was in bikeporn ages ago)

The Pink rims are Heather Violet
The Blue is the nice blue, the bright / sky blue. Don't remember the name or number.
Armourtex in both cases.

Armourtex RAL 4005 with silver metallic & clear coat
after.jpg

It wasn't my first choice (wanted something darker) but they don't have every single RAL colour in stock so I had to settle. It's really grown on me and now I think its the shizzle. Changes shade in different lights and the silvery lustre at night is wicked.
I'll take some close-up snaps if anyone is interested.

For the money the job is sweet, only a couple of little faults here and there but you have to nearly have your nose touching it.

Here's a frame I just got done the other week.

It's Cream 9001 with a gloss clear coat.

They also gave me a flyer with all the prices on etc, don't know if this is a repost or if it would be better to post it elsewhere, but I thought it might be useful to others anyway.

Damn, that's a nice colour. What, pray tell, is it?

My frame needs a respray; I spent the first week worrying about scratching it, the second week scratching the hell out of it and then haven't chipped or scratched it since :/

No that was stove enamelled by Mercian.

The OP does say powdercoat or others up top, but I guess I should've realised it would be all powder and 2pack stuff going up.

do you know how much they might charge to strip and clear laquer a frame?
I might just do the stripping myself?
there was a clear metal thread a while back but I'm just considering getting an old frame done in nice clear finish.

What is that 15 quid laquer really? It's an optional thing it seems, so what does it do? Is it function or aesthetics? Does the metallic or glitter stuff count as lacquer (hence costing 15 squid)?

Just got back and put her together, gotta say this colour is luuuurvly!!
This bikes a surprise for my girlfriend and its torture try to keep quiet about it.
Rubbish pics for now, I'll get some better ones when shes finished and the suns shining.

For reference this is RAL5024 with lacquer. + lacquer on polished aluminium forks (lost a little bit of gleam but still looks great)
frame, forks x2 (originals done in blue as well), 3 piece brake and bars all in for 75squid at Armourtex job done.
