Wondered if anyone had got a set, and how they were holding up. I remember problems being mentioned with the originals.

Im unsure what i think of them yet. I kind of like chunky style Hubs like the Gsport's.

remember those internal gear hubs? that what come to mind, an expensive high tech internal gear hubs.

I was wanting to build up a wheelset with some girthy hubs. I like the look of the Suzue Pro Max-CF hubs, but wondered if anyone has had any experiance with these Chubs.

"Girthy"... jesus.... that word should be reserved for use in Mills and Boon novels. I feel the same way about the word "hilt".

Great word 'Girthy'. Although your right, it should be used mainly in Mills and Boon novels...and of course Ben Dover productions...if he uses scripts.

Its hard to say anything about the revival of Chub Hubs as no-one really has had then long enough to see if this new company managed to overcome the flaws of the originals such as the bearings constantly blowing up etc.

For such a big hub they're very light and will build into some super strong wheels. Quality looks good but then the old ones also *looked* great.

Would love to hear from someone whose been thrashing one of the new ones around.

Pip, when Bambi was over here for a month he was running Chub Hubs.

He is a full time NYC messenger, as well as being one of the fastest things on two wheels. He got them cheap off Trackstar because no one was interested because they didn't see anyone riding them around town, so he got to be product tester/promoter.

So, I think they're ugly, not my style at all. He loves them, they are light, smooth, and he figures they ride just as well as his phil woods ever did. So there you go, if you want to ask him personaly i'll send you his e-mail

doesn't keith or jos have a really old rear chub hub on a shamal or something.

if i ever do a new build, it's gonna have them.
