Yes, HTFU etc to infinity.
put it this way;

you'll never feel so much better when you done the DD after all this shit happening, you'd feel even more satisfy doing it.

ok: just compared the two routes. if we go into LAVENHAM, then it's the 2008 route, if we don't then it's 2007. the route sheet at london fields should clarify all.

i think rapha do a base-base layer for £399. it's made out of parachute silk. in fact you actually get a bag of silk worms and you put them on your body 1 hour before the ride and watch them go to it. FTW

in all seriousness...you will need * 1) a t shirt /cycling top 2) armwarmers 3) some pockets for tube and a banana and some nuts(there is a food stop on route) 4) padded cycling shorts. there job done ..no track pump, no mavic rims, no spare shoes.

* i'm taking it for granted you will be tipping up witha bike, money, phone, house key etc

Just had a look at this--there is at least one navigational error in this, towards the end--not a major problem, but the 'official' route reaches the A12 via Willow Marsh Lane, not via Yoxford. Whoever recorded this either deliberately missed the turn into that narrow lane just after Sibton, as it's not very nice to ride, or simply missed it.

Yeah it's also getting back tomorrow for the flight. I'll be a nervous wreck the whole time thinking about it. Plus new tire + supplies + coach back = £40 I could do without spending since I'm currently dole scum.

I'm thinking of proposing a smaller forum jaunt to Dunwich before the Summer's out though.

fuck that. i thought it said 'dulwich dynamo'

safely wrapped up in bed after turning around with the break away group from the feed station, led by texas and which included polkinghorn, bmmf, claus, and me. i gotta say the dunwich dynamo is a great ride but the thought of being marooned 125 miles from my bed on a stony beach 2 miles from a nuclear power station just doesn't do it anymore.
The ride back was tiring as to be expected but we kept the average speed going up and then hovered it at 16.5 for the whole 126 miles in 7hrs 38 minutes. awesome riding from some awesome guys.
ride out to food station was most enjoyable if a little crowded with people not sure what they were doing ( note to bloke who stopped in the middle of the road on the bend....don't do it asshole) great to see so many faces especially maxl but a shame there was no real catch up time.
hope you are enjoying your sausage in eggs suckers...i'm off to bed

lovely time here. first leg for me was a bit of a dawdle but caned the second half with a bunch of guys geared up (i was fixed). made it to see the sun rise (something that's eluded me in the past due to the weather or lack of pace). Weather on the ride to Dunwich was a welcome change from 2007 when i last road it. i seemed to be wet from the inside out rather than outside in. Made it in 7:12.

The ride to Ipswich was a bit of a struggle thanks to having caned the second half of the ride and the weather turning on us

shower and duvet beckons...

Lost everyone almost immediately leaving Hackney cos of the traffic and number of bikes. Thinking people were in front of us I hauled arse trying to catch up, but soon realised I was probably ahead of them. Considered doing the decent thing and stopping to wait, but I was kinda happy motoring along so thought I'd keep the pace up for a while. Gormley came past looking like he meant business, so we hooked up and did the majority of the first half together, I only realised he'd dropped off when I noticed there were no longer any lights behind us.

Hit the road by meself again after a 30 min pit stop. Very few people around by then but I soon found another couple of equally paced fellas (one fixed) who I rode all the way to Dunwich with. Really surprised we got passed by not a single other rider for the whole second leg, was wondering if we'd gone a different route to everyone else as we were following the 2007 one posted here. Otherwise it could've been just not having to stop all the time to work out where the hell we were going.

Was fantastic to roll down to the beach at 04:30 with the Sun still to put in an appearance, and great to see it rise. Can't have been many more than 20 people there at that time, although I got in the cafe to discover Oliver was one of them.

6:56 for the 113 miles, which I'm pretty pleased with. Having got that out of me system I'll do the social ride next year, promise.
