social members be social
have funds and spend them

camaraderie too...

Doesn't that bring about all sorts of legal shite that most people on here are likely to take no interest in?
PL Insurance, non-profit org, blah blah I don't know the rules but you get the point?

Still, I don't really dig the green Willesden CC jerseys so I'm all for lfgss ones..

I think it could be good to have a club but who wants the hassel of doing the admin?

PL insurance for what?

events promoted by cycling clubs under BC rules need to have PL insurance for each indvidual event....
there is no obligation to put on BC events
even if the club chooses to affiliate with BC members don't have to join.

It would require a secretary, a treausurer, and a society/club bank account and Hippy you could be the president.

P.S. accident and personal 3rd party insurance through BC is bloody good value!

if you are a member of a club, you don't have to race!...look at the Dynamo!

you have to do no more races than you already do, events (rides, meetings, socials) do not have to be under BC rules!!!!!
unless you chopse to promote a race / event under BC rules.

I'd still be into organizing a London-based hillclimb (the Muswell Hill bus lane) if we were CTT-affiliated. I'll stalk the Haringey cycling liason officer if necessary...

Just so know, I've read bad things about group buys through Portland Cycle Wear (long lead times, bad comms etc) and lots of bad things about the jerseys themselves falling apart pretty quickly and generally not being great quality. Not trying to burst a bubble cos they look great, but just a warning.
