Interested in Willesden, but can't seem to get the site to work, any more info?

Would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I went on a club run with Kingston Wheelers, all the guys I spoke to were very friendly and chatty.

Beautiful day for a ride, 50 sunny miles in the Surrey Hills.

One of their riders had a stunning white Hetchins track bike with a chrome fork, it was pure porn, gutted I did not take a photo.

I'll defo join them again for a run out.

rollapaluza cc... been checking out the various cycling clubs, as recommended here, and thinking of joining rollapaluza

I believe Hippy and others here are members, so just wanted to ask about the club runs - when they take place, start point, distance...

also is the club by any chance going out this coming Sunday (21 June). 'er indoors has given me leave for a solid ride, seeing as it's Father's Day, but my usual companions are off doing London-sodding-Brighton which frankly I don't fancy.

had a look at the site, but I can't tell from the forum when the next club ride is happening...

do you know if anyone there's a ride out to Essex/Herts this weekend, Hippy?

There's not a regular clubrun. It's very ad hoc.
It's full of non-committal miscreants who don't like a strict timetable :)
I most certainly am not riding in Essex this weekend, being a Westie and all.

Rides are relatively ad hoc. People arrange and post on the forum. In the summer, because people are involved in sportives, races and track, organised rides are fewer but still take place. Join and organise. Riders will come.

I need to join a club, need to get some geared miles in this summer.
Not sure which club to join, I can only do a club run sunday morning and weekday evenings. Kingston wheelers sounds good, but I live in New Cross and its 15 miles just to get to the start of the ride.
Dulwich Paragon is pretty close to me but there sunday morning ride is something like 70 miles - which i don't know if i could jump straight into at the moment. I ride pretty much everyday, but haven't done any long rides for ages (except the london to brighton on fixed).
Rollapaluza is kinda close, but they don't seem to have a regular ride.

So does anybdy have experience of either - how often Rollapaluza go on rides or what the dulwich sunday morning ride is like? I just need some riding buddies as none of my mates down in London ride :-(

I ride at Dulwich Paragon, if you can do weekday nights the Wednesday chaingang is a good place to start, its where I started. The Saturday run is probably the ideal place to start as its easy paced and no ones dropped, the Sunday run is fast but all you have to remember is the worst that happen is you get dropped so bring a map incase!

I can't remember the last time we did a club run at Rolla. Most of the regular-ish rides were winter/early spring. Lots of members are now concentrating on specific road or track events so there are fewer club rides right now.

Kingston are also very good. As are Dulwich. PM "Dulwichrider" on here for more info about them, although Tom is a big trackie these days.

been on several of the saturday runs and they are a very friendly lot. haven't made the chain gang (as weekdays are a bit too busy) or the sunday one, though. the routes are on the website, so you can do a dry run of either the saturday or sunday rides at your own pace first.

i'd be up for a few sunday rides, if we can't make the official leaving time with the club.

You will find many Rollapaluza riders kicking arse at HH veledrome most weekends and Monday and Wednesday nights if that is your thing. The organised road rides were really good last year. We went out most Sundays. But for some reason, they stopped

[don't tell him that it was Christopher Bigggins and Vicky Pollard]

It is unkind enough to refer to hippy as Christopher Biggins (even with an extra "g") but I do not think that you should or could refer to any of your women members as Vicky Pollard.

Clive, BDW was clearly referring to hippy as Vicky Pollard and to you as Christopher Biggins. It is, admittedly, easy to mix up the two.
