are these pedals for use with normal shoes or are they meant for anything like cleats(i dont know what they are).

Yes, meant for slotted cleats. Old school style. I have some 600 similiar to those for track racing.
You can use them with sneakers as well. I used mine for nearly a year of messengering.

BTW, I'm looking for those toeclips in steel, size Medium...

mine are shitty plastic ones:(

just missed out on some mks track pedals with clips and straps on ebay because i have a bad memory :(
