fuck stabby-stabby. a gentle word in his shell-like, done properly will do the trick. I've had knives pulled on me and there are ways to deal with it. key thing is to ensure no-one loses face. "listen mate, we all know where your bikes come from and to be honest we're not too impressed. Maybe you could find a differnt polo team until you find a different way to earn a living?"

With a huge grin and upraised finger they then disappeared. The next day the police sent someone round to get statements. Given this was in EC2 with endless cameras, armed bobbies stood on Moorgate etc I guess it's indicative of where bike/motorcycle theft sits in their priorities. My bike now sits behind my desk when I'm at work... Last edited by woffle; 6th August 2008 at 10:48.. Reason: spelling

| | Hi all, My boss had his Pinnacle AEOS 1.0 stolen this morning from where he lives in Ruislip. Because it's a road bike and because of the type of bike the thieves left, we think it's very likely to have been stolen to be resold. ![]() It's got Litespeed pedals, a carbon seat post, Specialized bottle cages, Mavic Ksyrium wheels. If you could keeps your eyes peeled around the London area, it'd be much appreciated. I know it's a long shot. You can contact him at the following email address: j_w_byatt@hotmail.com |

| | Regarding Carl. I've had a word with him about his bikes. He insists they're not stolen (to his knowledge) and admitted to having stolen bikes before but getting nicked for it. He also told me he won't deal with Jan because of his super shady dealings in the past. I've known Jan for years, even before BLB and I know of his shady past yet he's now gone (mostly) legit. Everybody deserves a second chance IMO. |

| | Just thought I'd post a pic of my bike which was stolen on 10 Sept (i.e. last night!) on St James' St. I'd only had it for a month. I went for a meal, and 2 hours later when I came out of the restaurant it was gone. At least dinner was damn good. I was having so much fun on that bike... The police at least sounded like they vaguely cared. |

| | never fear, whoever stole it will undoubtedly return it soon. (sincere apologies, I'm not cut out for the rough-forum-banter,......but someone else would have said it sooner or later, seriously - I hope the scum bag that nicked it falls off, lands on his face and then gets run over by a bendy bus.) ....edit> and me a cuntster rider, with my reputation...! |

| | Friends Specialized Globe 2008 58cm frame. Not a fixed but absolutly brand spanking new. Less than 24 hours old !! First time he'd locked it up outside the Dove, Broadway Market in Hackney got nicked. Went in for a pint and bike gone when he came out. The U Lock had been cut clean through. I know it's a long shot but if anyone sees any dodgy bastard on a brand new globe in that area then let me know. He's going down Brick Lane early on Sunday. I'm sure he might see it again there. This stolen bike thing in London is out of hand. Boris wants people on bikes, Police do fuck all when they're nicked. If they did a sweep of Brick Lane every Sunday it would be a start. Something needs to be done. You basically can't let you bike out of your site. |

| | Yes it's the one near the video shop i think. Hackney road end of Broadway Market just as you go into the street. Sells all those fancy beers in funny shaped glasses. It was yesterday afternoon about 3 ish so might have been pretty quiet but expect still quite a lot of people about as it's always busy enough. It was brand new and shiny, he said still had all the stickers on ! As you can imagine he's well pissed off. Will find out what the lock was.... |

| | He says the lock was a 'magnum' - now cut through he says it has coiled wire inside a metal tube inside plastic coating. Sounds like the lock was the problem ? Certainly not a big Abus. Problem is though it was cut through with something powerful so sounds like it wouldn't have made a difference what it was. |

| | If anyone is offered a beaten yellow Velocity radial-spoked to a well-used high=flange phil front hub, its probably mine...stolen from outside the moustache bar in Dalston last weekend. Yeah, I know its my fault. Locked with a Kryptonite mini through the back wheel, etc. Incidentally, dont bother trying to report a stolen wheel in stoke newington at 3am on a sunday morning. Lets just say its not a police priority. Even if you have a witness. |
