I've decided that my road bike needs white tape rather than red. Any tips on how to make sure it stays white? I'm thinking of spraying it with clear coat enamel, but obviously I'll have to do quite a bit of masking-off first.
Has anyone tried this or got any other ideas?

It gets dirty, after a while you replace it. It's £6 a box, you'll spend more in time and money trying to find a way to keep it spotless, and you won't succeed either.

wash your hands before you use the bike. I noticed that keeps things cleaner.

Washing up liquid/water. I prefer the 'lived-in' look though (same goes for my white tyres and saddle).

lick it clean after every ride - the acidic quality of saliva should maintain that virginal finish you are looking for.
