Chicago wig are full custom....you have to give isaac your measurements so he can fit it right.....so i wouldn't count them out.
Rickshaw are nice bags....but as they're owned by the original owner of timbuk they may not be all that different.....but they look pretty.
Pac now have a new line of bags out too that may be worth a goosey?

cheers Scott - I ordered a custom Wig bag but it just doesn't fit me - an expensive mistake so can't afford to make it again. (Anyone want to buy a Wig bagpack from me?) Didn't realise Rickshaw were a Timbuk 2 company...but strap padding looks decent so was tempted....I've modded my Bagaboo as best I can but it's not as good as I know one of your bags would be.... basically I'm looking for second best to what you produce! Will check out the new PACs though if I can - nothing beats seeing/trying in the flesh tho.

Mind if I ask what the issue is with the bagaboo? Am considering one for myself (waiting list for a Grobag is soooo long!) and have read some good reviews of them...

i just find bagaboo's padding is a bit ropey and the cross-strap doesn't adjust very well (workhorse) They're not bad but with the exchange rate really not worth the money -

Nothing wrong with a bagaboo. I was a courier for 2 years and used many different bags but was definitely most happy with the bagaboo. It took a while to wear in though, as with any bag.

I now use deuter rucksacks and they are perfect for commuting.

@seb - PAC simply rock for well constructed durable bags. I have 2 friends that have had there's for over 10 years as active couriers and they are still going strong.
I've used MEC messenger bag, which a lot of TO riders use and that was great for 4 yrs in which i couriered and travelled, would still have it but it got stolen. They're smaller looking but expand and have extention straps in abundance. Once caried 2 wheels, handlebars and 2 forks and a frame with one - and beer.

yep - each to their own - i've had 2 bagaboo's and not impressed with either. if scott's happy enough to endorse pac and people run them for 10 years they've gotta be pretty decent - i just carry big bulkly loads so need a good fit on the cross-strap but most important the back padding.
who else stocks PAC other than BLB?

£200 for a messenger bag is far too much, I'd rather go for an custom-made bag for the same price and probably look great too.

thought I do like the Visvim ecats, just the price is a little too high.

Review here: http://www.1lesscar.com/reviews/bag.html

"Why I'm reviewing this, I'm not sure. I traded some shirts for it, so it's not like I can use it as a write off. Never the less, here's my review. The one I've got is the standard bag, nothing special. The guy I traded with pointed me in the direction of their web site, which showed the bag in blue and yellow, which looked pretty cool, but mine is a bright ass orange and yellow. Like I said, it was free though, so choosing colors isn't really an option. The pluses: it's got a bit of reflective stitching on it, so you shouldn't get hit. The thing is huge, and it's well made. The bag's waterproof as hell and has a good inside pocket and outer pocket. The minuses: there's no stabilizer strap. A lot of people will tell you that this is what will make or break a messenger bag, they may be right but a friend with a sewing machine and a cannibalized Crumpler bag and viola! Problem solved. It also had no shoulder pad, but once again the Crumpler came to the rescue. What else can I say? It works well. Would I have paid cash for it? Maybe."

has anyone bought a chrome bag from the website? if so- does the price+import duties+delivery etc end up being more than getting it from condor or chain reaction?

@Aleksi - Chrome in the US charge a fair whack for postage. They do have a European site which would eliminate the worries on import duties. I'm not sure if they are cheaper though.

Do the shops price in a way to stop people bothering with imports? ie. slightly more than the cost of the imported version. Or do they price them based on local competition - other shops or say Crumpler's pricing?

It's not worth buying direct from Chrome IMO. A Metropolis works out nearly £150 incl shipping from the USA + import and VAT on top of that. The Euro site works out cheaper (assuming no VAT or import tax) but it's still nearly £150 inc. shipping. You can get them from Chain Reaction for £115 with free delivery (though fewer colours). I got my Kremlin from there a couple of months back for £75!

TescoBags, since they are more durable and the waterproofing lasts longer than any of those cheap Cordura bags. They are also more readily recycled than the cordura bags. "It depends" JFGI UTFS
