Getting my frame re-sprayed on tuesday. Never thought its so difficult to make a simple colour decission. Got stuck and keep annoying my bike friends (and everyone else). Need your valued opinions. will count votes.
bike: unknown french track frame, crome bits, will have sugino 75, miche hubs, front brake, curved handle bar.
-
colour option 1: slightly darker white (kind of cream or off-white), possibly mat silver deep V's
colour option 2: light sea blue (bit lighter than the On-One and touch more jellow-ish rather than baby blue), possibly with white deep V's

Always liked that blue and always wanted white as well but thinking if I reserve white for my dream keirin bike to come in the future sometime. This frame is more my everyday ride, nothing too special.
I post some photoshop impressions.

The blue looks a little like the blue used by Schwinn for their 2008 Madison.

Hang on, its a little darker. Oh well, gives some idea what a light blue track bike looks like

Blue for sure. White bikes are common as muck and boring. Sorry white bike owners but it's true! :P
Just make the blue different to Pompino otherwise you'll be confused for a practical, mud-guard using off roader or something :)

looks like it came back to blue then.
thought you were taking it down to armortex the other day... changed your mind?

i avoided white as well... but i still think the off white is good. it goes to show all the white bikes out there what's the cool new white.

i saw jimmy's white nagasawa today at herne hill. jaw-dropping!

I'd say do your own thing, who gives a **** about other bikes, we're not talking about fashion, init, or are we?

Think about the time when you've seen a bike and thought "wow! that's a great colour, I wished my bike had the same colour", then that's the colour you want.

got delayed due to some technical problems with getting stuff of the frame which unfortunately gave me more time to think. Blue in the lead so far. off white still a possibility. cherry ripe definite no no.

that must have been the time when I stopped looking at girls on the street and started looking at bikes. so instead of blond, black, brunette its now a range of about a million colours...

pearlescent takes he hard edge off the white and gives it a bit of depth, more like the colour of mik

the mercian kingfisher flamboyant is a gorgeous colour

I'm almost there already. Just need a bit more gloss and some kind of metallic base-coat.

kingfisher is quite a bit darker than what I had in mind, isn't it? Not bad neither. almost what it is at the moment. Whats your off white colour on the mercian chart?

mines 46 on the mercian chart, pearl white, the flamboyants have got a bit of sparkle to them i seem to remember - you can email them for a catalogue, they have bigger swatches in that

I don't think armortex can do sparkle. Do you like the kingfisher better than the light blue? Origininal inspiration was 60's beetle.

if you're getting an armourtex paintjob then i don't think they do pearls or flamboyants and to be honest i think thats what lifts the white.

I'm digging the blue on the vdub and it's not going to be mistaken for a pomp

polished components look nice against it as well if that bumpers anything to go by and a pair of white velocity rims would look fantastic against that colour

love those flamboyant colours if they are subtle and not the total pimp my ride effect. But keep that option for a real fancy bike in the near future.
so what you think, light 60's beetle blue or darker kingfisher blue?

Hey fgssers, i'm curious about something. When i got my forks chromed, i asked the chap there if he could chrome rear dropouts, or maybe half the chainstay. He said he couldn't, and i didn't ask any more questions. So, does the chrome need to be the base layer before any powdercoating gets done? How does a section of the frame get chromed?

Punkpixles, are you going to mask off that chrome when you get it blasted and powdercoated?

By the way, armourtex do do sparkely, they did mine like this, and i'm sure they can do other colours than silver. But, you can also buy this thing online/ebay which you mix with the powder coat, and it gives a shimmer effect.like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimmer-Wine-Red...QQcmdZViewItem
