| | had mine 2 weeks, so far added a 105 front brake and a goldfinger lever. need to change the cog to an 18t as my thighs are dead. will be going clipless shortly. not too sure i like the feel of the bars. that'll be it though, bought it as cheap trainer for winter when i cant ride off-road so easily. |

i didn't like the stock bars, so i upgraded to a set of profile airwings, but for some reason i ordered the oversized ones, so i had to change the stem as well (now using a quill-ahead adaptor and an ahead stem with oversize clamp). ![]() the stock stem on the 07 model was pretty heavy and ugly though...

| | I'm pretty much in love with the Fuji Track frame. I've never had a frame fit so well on top of being a great handling frame and really responsive it makes it ideal for me. So I'll upgrade it to the nth degree. I'm waiting on a new stem, headset, forks, bars, from wheel and seat post. That's what my budget can manage right now (okay it cant manage it but.. ). When I head back to Dublin I'll be back on clipless peddles too. Peace |

cheers, me too :) i don't think the airwings look good with more "classic" frames, but the fuji is no design classic. great fun to hammer around the streets of london on, though!

| | I think what you pay for with the Fuji Track is the frame. And it's a perfectly good frame. The components themselves are pretty cheap and although I bought an '08 track as a sort of stop-gap bike while I did up a vintage frame I found myself really enjoying riding it and decided to upgrade one or two bits, this soon turned into more. All that's original on it now are the frame, fork, and wheels. Replaced the stem, pedals (Smarty - Crank Bros), bars, saddle, Cane Creek lever, Shimano Ultegra 6600 caliper, tightened all the spokes by 1/4 of a turn and wheels feel better for it, 18 tooth sprocket on the back, swapped over the tires to Continental Grand Prix 4 Season as the original tires really were quite dreadful (only go up to 90 psi). ![]() |

| | Yeah the frame is great. But mostly the bars, stem, headset and tyres are where it suffers. So I'm replacing them. That said, I've hammered it around London since I got here a year ago so it's probably done 4000 miles and I'll I've done was replace the back tyre so far. Antijinx!! Peace |

cheaper that way if you buy a freewheel hubs and then go fixed, that'd be a bit of a waste of money when you only use the freewheel for a short while.

| | Gotta say it is a cracking bike for the cash. Some people knock it but I have to agree with scaryeire the frame is great. It obviously helps if it fits well, but mine was spot on. Yes original tyres are a bit poor, the wheels will probably want sorting after a ride or two so get to know someone handy a twiddling nipples. Pimp my fuji - Pedals and toeclips to shiny track pedals and clips. Fuji drop bars swapped for the same profile pursuit bars above (them be super doody and great for ragging it up hills as they are pretty long) Stock stem to a 3T stem (same length just more angle so I can get lower on the pursuit bars, stem now runs parallel with top tube (ie flat). 17t miche / 19t EAI (to give me a few choices depending on hills) Oh yeah and a front brake + crosstop lever. Considering - new wheels as the hubs aren't running like butter anymore, more like butter with bits of toast in. What's with all the seat bashing too, I quite like my little fuji saddle, have completed 30/40M rides without a hint of numb bollies. Last edited by k0vic; 6th October 2008 at 17:02. | | I've got a Brooks saddle on my Fuji Track, a green one, but covered in a Mac User plastic bag. The badness continues with silver flat bars, yellow Oury grips and a Paul Comp lever. Round bits are also a weird mix; Phil Wood on Mavic 33 rim at the front, stock rear wheel, but with a 22t cog on it. Add a few stickers into the mix, et voila... It's turned into a bit of a Frankenstein's bike, to be honest. |
