| | Gave them a call, no luck only have the 09. seem like cool guys there though pretty helpful. everywhere seems to be saying the same thing now Phoned holcross, they seemed offended for some reason that i was asking about 08 model i quote the guy on the phone (*adopts rude patronising tone* 'No we're half way through 2009 now so No') Just a suggestion but how about taking the ad off the site then!. winstanley only have 49cm and will not be getting any more stock, Biddle say on there home page they have three 61cm left in the sale but you cant seem to buy them (i think this is just an old ad that hasnt been taken down) im stuck now. is the bike discontinued or something? its kind of annoying because ive been considering the purchase for a while and saving the money, now i have the money theres no stock! Cheers for your help though man appreciate it. Any more suggestions. |

| | First time poster here. Apologies in advance for the nth sizing question. I'm thinking about ordering a Fuji track from Evans as my introduction to fixed gear but I'm still unsure on what frame size to choose. I was pretty much set on a 58cm up until I read the last posts on this thread, see I'm about the same size as fellow newcomer 'gatsmart', towering at 192cm (6.3 ft with 36" inseam) and apparently the 61cm would be best suitted. Needless to say that my whole perspective is now shattered...especially since there's a 100 quid difference between the 2009 58cm at Evans and the 2008 61cm at Holcros. I know that height/inseam are not the only determining factors and that I should probably try the different sizes but it's not an option as I live in Belgium. I have the idea that a frame a little too small would be better than a frame too big especially since I'm looking for a more straight riding position/responsive bike in an urban surrounding (Brussels). But I'm quite the noob so if any of you Fuji owners within the same height range would care to chime in that'd be great. THANKS IN ADVANCE. Mat |

| | no-idea- i have an 06 fuji track in 58. im 6' 2" and have the seat up a fair bit. it fits me fine but if i were to get another, id be tempted to try a 60. id be concerned that a 60 might have too long of a reach for my arms even if it were perfect for my legs, so id have to sit on one to see what it felt like. a diffrent length stem might help with the arm reach. i reckon youd probably want a 60 if your a bit bigger than me, but dont take my word for it, find one to sit on! |

| | Just completed the Manchester to Blackpool ride on my first fixed (Fuji Track), mostly off the peg components apart from a short stem, risers and a front brake. Have to say, apart from a sore arse and hands (my fault for not wearing cycling shorts and gloves) it was pretty comfy and stood me in good stead. Wondering whats the furthest anyone has ridden on a bike with track geo like this, Im interested in doing the Manchester 100, but not sure whether my Fuji will be the best ride. On a side note, any other fixie riders from Manchester want to help a newb get fit, maybe some rides to Buxton and the like? |

| | pretty much, there's a lots to compensate the stiffness of the bike, such as low flange hub with shallow rims, moustache bar to absord the shock, a good choice of saddle, bigger tyres says, 25c, 28c etc. it's not much but it's a good start. if you're riding with track drop, 23c tyres, track saddle, etc. then you'll be sorer enough to wish you commit a crime, went to prison and got buggered six way from Sunday. | | Yeah the saddle isnt agreeing with me, or at least it wasn't when I was riding through Lytham and wanted to smash it to bits! Ill probably upgrade that, get some better foot retention (I find the pedals and straps a bit shite, and very tricky to get into when moving). I wont ask whether I should enter the 100, I guess the answer will be 'yes, HTFU'!!!! Sod it, ill enter it and see how it goes, i did hardly any training for the Blackpool ride but managed it, hell, there were a lot of riders on geared bikes pushing their bikes up the hills, Im strangely proud that I didnt get off (proud, but very sore I might add). |

| | Yeah deffo mate, i'm a manc lad and I'd be up fer that... d'you know there's a\ manc subforum on here? I recently got a fuji track as my beater/commuter ready for winter so I can be a bit kinder to the 'burgundy dream' and 'other bike' so you can check out my set up. The pedals are appalling, 2nd thing I changed after the saddle (though i was changing so much anyway i did it all in one go) i'll put a pic up at some point of the fuji... Quote:

Cool, I pm'ed you, be good to make some contacts with other fixed riders, and great to see what youve done with your track... Where is this Manc sub-forum you speak of? Is it mad-ferret? | |

| | look near the bottom of the main age and you'll see the sub forums - we're on there. Anyhoo - here's my fuji, with a sticky vinyl job to cover up a lot of the frame - look alright but took a while t get wrinkle free. As long as it lets me keep my nice bikes clean and tidy and lets me not clean it every bight when it's salty on't roads I'll be happy. Once the hubs are suffering I'll put my sligtly better spare wheelset on... http://www.flickr.com/photos/roryeag...7621281330351/ Spec: Truvativ hussefelt OS stem - 40mm Bontrager OS bulls Oury's Cane Creek Crosstop lever Shimano 105 brake MKS AR2 pedals and cages.
