dogsballs:has anyone heard of armourtex doing a metallic flake powder coat finish? I know it's possible, just curious if it's been done though.
Phone them and ask if they have metallic or if you can supply your own powder, then get some from columbia that I linked to above.

Just needs a new seatpost, saddle and a Nitto B-123AA... Then I'll leave her be... Pretty happy, tho' she's a bit twitchy at the front, probably just long fork rake, heavy bars and the HUGE wheels... Or something... :)
Apologies for crap pic, I'll do some better ones once all the new bits are on and I've chrome-pasted her up a bit...
BTW If I chrome-paste the anodized rims to a shiny mirroe finish will they stay that way or will they just oxidise and go back to a dull finish after a few weeks?

kowalski:I'm not convinced about Colourtech.
neither am i. i used used them (when i say 'them' i think. it's a one or two man job with a guy called dave doing the work) and a good 4/5 months on i;m finding that it chips really easily. also not 100% happy with the lug lining. when i asked him about all this I just got loads of shit excuses. he also lost my bottom bracket.

I thought Colourtech did Cooper's paint.

The paint on Cappa's frame looked pretty nice, but obviously not ridden yet.

Mario vaz did a fixed for me about 5 years ago.
Paint and finish wasn't great, but I'm not a perfectionist, especially as it was for a commuter and especially as it only cost £40.
Good to see his prices haven't gone up in 5 years.
If you want a quality finish you really need to go elsewhere and pay £100+

I thought he was a nice bloke.

Mario is great, I take everything back... Unbeatable value... You just have to stay on top of him, so to speak...

Mario sprayed my Holdsworth a few years ago, it has a few chips but for the money and what it looked like before [fire damaged] I was pleased.
I already knew that a Mario week was 20 days :)

Colourtech [ 01322 555549 ] did my Ron Cooper when it was built and that has been good, only damaged where it has been dropped a couple of times

Mario painted, lug lined, put the decal on and filled the rear brake stay and did a pretty damn good job and one Mario week was actually a week, the only chips are as a result of me being a numpty.

The paint job/work he did for you is awesome, not what i expected given some of the press he gets - interested to see how it holds up
