2009 Bikes - Bloody Nora!

Have the bike companies sacked their designers and had them replaced all overnight??!!

Whatever it is, life will get interesting on the streets.

Will the Felt be called Count Dracula? And is white the new black? :)

the felt (tk3 - pictures) is clever marketing, its a hardcore track frame, but with cheaper parts than the better tk2. They have gone for a colour scheme that they thought would be popular with people riding the bike on the street

pictured below is tk2

i'm staggered by abomination that is the 'path-meets-langster' bowery.

it reaches a new low in bike depravity.

Some of this frame design is frankly fucking baffling. Hybrids with no gears and drops.
I'm not sure I understand.

*Edit* 1 gear for any pedants out there.

Clearly my memo to bike companies teaching them that backward sloping top tubes (a la langster) are wrong got lost in the post.
Langster = bad
Fankgster = really, really bad, even if it does happen to be better looking than the langster, like the giant one.
The style is still incredibly awkward and looks like an ugly inbred child of bmx and a mountain bike that was only born with one gear and now it's parents dress it up in powder coating and hope the other kids won't pick on it.

It shows they've done their research (albeit have ended up getting it horribly wrong).

Their target demographic isn't hipsters or 'proper' fixed riders, because they know they're less likely to buy OTP, preferring instead to do custom builds. They're aiming at commuters and wannabes who are used to relaxed head angles and sloping top tubes that they've got on their MTBs and compact road bikes who will want a little kookiness - like a chopped Brooks and dropped bullhorns - but won't want it to be so outlandish that they'll be laughed at by their friends.
