New frame, Suggestions?

Hi everyone.
this is my first thread on the forum.
I'm extremely pleased as after having saved up for a while have managed to snag this frame on ebay.
It's my first fixed gear frame so I would really appreciate some advice. Firstly I do not know what size the BB is, what is the best way to find out? also can this frame take a quill stem or will i have to use a clamp on one?
here is some pictures of the frame. Its a Guerciotti (italian i presume) with reynolds 531.
what do you think?

quill stem. 1" headset, italian BB. lovely frame! you'll need short cranks, that BB looks pretty low.

Looks like the fork steerer is threaded- if it is then you need a quill stem and threaded headset.
If it is an italian frame then you will have an italian threaded bottom bracket- I believe (but do not pretend to know) that this will be wider than the standard 68mm British so you could tell by measuring it.
Please let me know if this is not true!

that frame looks , beeaauuootiful. Just my cuppa tea!

Looks pretty old, but with nice racey geometry. Look foward to seeing it built up.

Its odd that it had an italian makers name and a Reynolds badge is it not?, Im far from an expert on these matters, but think thats pretty unusual.

Ive seen quite a few italian frames with british BB, so guess it can happen!

Think your pretty sorted for all your queries now. But I believe most open bearing bottom brackets will work on various sized hub shell widths*. I think with a sealed unit you can just use a spacer.

Important thing is to go check your threading of course.

*it is quite likely I am mistaken.

Roberto has quite a few 1" NOS threaded headsets at the moment.

shamelesss plug:

I have a new, boxed, unused Shimano Ultegra 1" threaded headset. I was putting it on eBay tomorrow anyway but PM me if your interested.

They're good quality and look like this.

Thanks but no thanks, I'm looking for an older one, maybe I should PM Roberto, I would guess most NOS headsets wouldn't be sealed? Am i right?
Also while im here; does anyone know how old the frame is? could anyone make an educated guess?
cheers.
