 | New Trek OTP Just stumbled across this. Sorry if it's been posted before One glance at the Trek District and you know a handful of Trek engineers have spent time at the last few North American Handmade Bicycle Shows. The District, a US$930 beauty designed for urban use, takes it a step further by using a belt drive. Trek's distinctive aluminium frame and carbon fork are complimented by the vintage gray and orange aesthetics, all the way down to powdered coated rims and matching chainring bolts, artisan style.  |

| | Belt drives are a bit easier for non-techie types to deal with, I think is the logic. I think it's a reasonable idea. It's a nice simple runabout designed for people who want a cafe bike rather than a racer/mountain bike/HHSB and who maybe don't have the time or the know-how to make a single-speed conversion (or are phobic of chain lube). As such, I hope it gets more people into cycling. Of course, those of you with orange deep Vs will probably be aghast. |
