Vans Fixed Gear Shoes

edited I just realise I only seen the coloured one, it's just the same Vans shoes we saw age ago, I never seen those one below, my mistake, sorry!

This isn't a repost or anything, I was checking out the Size? catalogue I got from Covent Garden, and at the Vans shoes section, this is what I've noticed;

basically it look like a Vans Era with some sort of sticky stuff on it.

i never got why they put designs on the insoles? you cant see it when your wearing the shoes so only those in the know know whats inside the shoe, it makes no sense!

They have since come out with a fixed gear specific shoe called the the 45LX Fixed. It’s the classic Era with reflective 3M re-enforced materials on the laces and on the heel logo. The shoes also come with a tool bag for under your seat to keep whatever you need.

i still can't see what is "fixed gear" about these. they're just normal vans with bits of reflective tape stuck on the backs.

marketing bollocks.

similar to my av era's which I love, smooth front bit with nothing to catvh when you put your foot into your straps. Also no airholes on front bit so won't let water in as easily.

Exactly - anyone could just buy some normal shoes and stick a bit of 3M tape on them.

Only muppets and fashion slaves would buy them over a cheaper but equally good alternative.

Saw these a while ago in some cool Japanese store in Soho. Now these look like fixed gear shoes.

Hmm surely a better fixed shoe could be based on the slip on or prison issue - laces fail

"fixed gear shoes"

oh do come now, Mr Hitler, you can't possibly expect the good ladies and gentlemen of this jury to really believe that, now could you !?

No further questions, Your Honor, that completes the case for prosecution.

i was thinking about buying these until i realised what a load of bollocks they are. they cost !!!£70!!! and are essentially the same as the era (which is £35-40). oh yeah, and they come with a matching vans-branded saddle bag which no-one in there right mind would ever dream of using. also didn't think i'd be able to look at myself in the mirror again after having bought 'fixed gear' shoes. so i went down to the vans shop and bought some ordinary eras. job done.
