I've got a pair of '80s Weinmanns that I was going to put on eBay next week.
You can have 'em (and I need to shift both) for a fiver.

But I won't be back in London till Monday.

right, I have to bump this as I'm trying for a solution tonight.

I need: a working, good order brake. Previous brake old weinmann 500 (I think), not an allen key fitting. I have various bits from another one.

I probably need: some new cable

I could really do with: someone to help put the brake on as I collect it off them as I'm not getting something right. I rebuilt my old one last night and it's not working because I am a dufus so it would be a big part of it.

for this: the price of the brake - if it's a good one, great as long as it's the right size - if it's an old Weinmann 500, as long as it's in working order and fits, great - plus what, four cans of beer for helping a brother out?

I live Brockley, the more local the better as I wasn't planning on brakeless ever with this gearing and lack of skid finesse. I can come whenever's convenient for you from about 6.30pm onwards.

This would mean I could get to Herne Hill track tomorrow morning without worrying i was going to smash my face up before I arrived; also pedalos; also Canterbury ride.

Thanks for any help..
