How long have you been riding fixed

Was just thinking about it last night while riding around. I love it, but have only had a fixed gear for 4 months.

So... wanted to see what the rest of you are like.

Are we all hipster fakengers, or do most have longer fixed traditions?

About 1.5 years ago about the same time the trend kicked off. I jumped on the bandwagon, and what!

Rode my dads old winter trainer fixed for a couple of years back in 1999-2001 then mostly just BMX until about 9 months ago, so 2 years 9 months, or 9 years, or 9 months depending on how you want to measure it.

it's a bit like asking when you lost your virginity. everyone is going to lie exaggerate and say 'when i was two, my auntie gertrude in the barn'.

A bit like RPM - 27 years, with a lull in the middle, getting back into it (all bikes, including geared) in the early 90s.

I dabbled in track racing around 20 years ago but started riding fixed on the road in early 2007.

I've been wearing white jeans for years though so am a hipster first and foremost.

On and off since I was fifteen. Grandad gave me his fixed tourer. It amused me and my delinquent friends for a summer, then i got a moped, threw it in the garage and never saw it again.
I'm forty three now.

31 years on and off....

first rode track when I was 9 and first BCF race when I was 10, you were supposed to be 11 but my dad "accidentally" filled in the license application form incorrectly.

My first bike was a little yellow BMX, I remember the very moment I worked out how to balance on it, Packwood Close, Redditch, circa 1985.
