Ive got 165mm cranks on my bike but I had an incident of pedal strike on ym bike today whe I was going fairly slow.

Its a new bike so havent had a chance to push it with some proper fast riding, so kind of glad this happened now and not when im speeding around the front of a bus!

I have some some campagnolo single sided pedals with steel cages, christophe straps.

My chainline is as tight as possible too, q factor small. So I guess I have to get smaller pedals or something? Its mainly my foot & the strap which hit first, so I guess the only way to get it tighter would be pedals with a lesser gap between the crankarm & pedal (less exposed pedal spindle)

any ideas? (aside from HTFU of course)

Thanks for the suggestions, in hindsight I think im just gonna wear slimmer shoes, tighten up straps and HTFU!

its a convert, but its pretty sporty-shaped. I ran 170's on my last bike with no problems, I guess im leaning more these days.

If you are inclined to change your pedals, speedplay road pedals have the best cornering clearance around.

How big are your shoes if they hit before the pedals?

1. I only roll with non-clipless, tried spds, ended badly

2 & 3. Id been wearing onitsuka tigers on my bike, which are fairly chunky. They pushe out towards the side wuite a bit, the pedal strap wrapped around my shoe is the bit that strikes.

If I go back to wearing vans for example, because the shoes are slimmer, I can get the straps a lot tighter too, and they be perhaps 2cm saved.

They are big.

wait, did you have pedal strike against the curb/ground/not-a-part-of-your-bike thing, or did the inside of your shoe hit the crank arm?
