| | Brooks B17 Honey chopped got a new (unridden) brooks b17 standard in honey, chopped and tied over the weekend, up for grabs. cut high, like a swallow, bevelled sides, tied in the middle using a stainless steel spoke (clean looking, very high tensile strength). made it for my wife, but she doesn't like the colour, she apparently wanted the black one i made for myself... so i just want to sell this one so i can get another. pm me with offers. cheers. under offer... ![]() Last edited by hassanr; 17th June 2008 at 11:04.. |

Its called a Lycett swallow. They're standard classic British lightweight saddles, very nice. Here's one on Classic Lightweights, its been blocked out (reshaped to flatten out that worn-in dip) very nicely... somthing I had not very much luck with on my one, but will try again. ![]()

| | sorry! somehow i managed to miss all these posts... I'm not sure when i'll be able to do a 'shop', things are really hectic right now with uni... if there's a rainy saturday some people could come down to cavendish and i could show you then, would that work for anyone? skully - just used a stanley knife held at an angle. there is a specific tool for it, i think odge has one, but the stanley works well enough with a bench vice and a steady hand. |

| | dont do it! Brooks pro looks great as it is, I think chopped saddles look spazzy in most situations. Also it seems obsurd to chop out the nice embossed bit that says "brooks professional" from a £65 saddle. Its like buying a brand new bentley and cutting a hole in the bonnet to make it look sportier. |

Personally I still think it looks horrid in 90% of situations ive seen it. The job above, looks skillfully done, but if ive paid out of my ears for a leather saddle, I want to have a nice big piece of cow to sit on damnit!
